ITALIAN GRAN PRIX OFFSHORE CLASS ONE

Sensational !! We will have finally the return in Italy of the competitions of the World Championship

Off Shore Class One, the maximum category of the motor boating.

City of Stresa, the place " pearl " of Lago Maggiore, will entertain in fact the Gran Prix Italy Offshore Class One from 2nd to October 4th 2009 and it will become so, for some days, protagonist of the most spectacular class of motor boating sport.

The last time that these boats were seen to dart on the water in Italy goes up again in fact to the mythical years 90.

Since then, this circuit of competitions that happens all over the world, had not landed in Italy anymore. Thanks to the initiative of an ex great pilot of this fascinating discipline, Fulvio Maria Ballabio, with the support of Cantieri di Stresa and Montecarlo Marine Companies and of the City of Stresa that has welcomed with great enthusiasm, through the Mayor Canio Dimilia, the proposal to be as center of the event, is made possible to organize this Gran Prix of Italy.

It is confirmed with this competition the desire to bring this discipline not only in sea, but also in firm waters as it is has already happened for the Gran Prix in Romania, Moscow and Austria.

In such way for the public there won't be only the catwalk of the pilots and a their boats in the paddock, but also the possibility to see in action, from nearby, these fantastic boats.

Besides the Lago Maggiore and Stresa offer a natural amphitheater to the water area where these motor boats will compete; from slopes of the mountains that overlook the lake, as from the lakeside of Stresa, it will be possible to enter the atmosphere of a Gran Prix of Offshore Class One and admire from "alive" this competition in an incomparable natural scenery.

Surely the Gran Prix of Stresa is destined to become one of the most popular competition in the world calendar of the Class One.

The organizers have already confirmed the registration of 10 teams.

However the organizers of the Gran Prix of Stresa they are not limited to organize only this sporting demonstration.

In fact they are organized alternative programs inside the event among which detach for their characteristics two other motor boating demonstrations of smaller entity, but not for this, of smaller attraction for the public that will be present due to the participants that will animate her. These two events will be:

- MOTOR BOAT RAID : from Canton Ticino Switzerland to the river Ticino

Thanks to an agreement between the National Swiss Television and various local and national Italian broadcasting stations, it will depart from the City of Ascona, Swiss place of Lago Maggiore, this marathon, homage to Clay REGAZZONI, driven by his child Gian Maria accompanied with some VIP people of the Swiss and Italian tourism sector that will mark a very important stage for the future water street between the Canton Ticino Switzerland and the City of Milan Italy on the occasion of the EXPO of the 2015.

The phases of the exhibition therefore will represent a civility and ecological aspect being some of the boats partially fed by an ecological fuel – BIOETHANOL not derived from groceries but only from alimentary discards.

And the sporting aspect and of curiosity won't be neglected considering that the boats will touch 5 harbors of the Lago Maggiore in the provinces of Verbania, Varese, Novara among Piedmont, Lombardy and Switzerland.

This event will have as co - sponsor the support of RAI 3 Lombardy.

At every harbor, from the departure to Ascona where a party will be held the preceding evening the departure with the presence of the Swiss and Italian authorities and a lot of sporting figures, a welcome demonstration it is organized for the crews.

- MONTECARLO OFFSHORE CELEBRITY Challenge

Under the sponsoring of the F.I.M. Motor boating Italian Federation it will always develop in the water area just in front the city of Stresa, at the same time of the Gran Prix Offshore Class 1 competitions, a motor boating competition with small boats normally used for the Junior motor boating competitions, conducted by 20 personalities of the sporting world among which the pilots of Formula 1 Arturo Merzario , the of offshore pilots Tullio Abbate, Adriano Panatta, Antonio Gioffredi e Regazzoni jr, the champion of motorcycling Marco Lucchinelli, the ex Swiss pilots of F1 Andrea Chiesa and Franco Forini, the 9 times world champion of F1 motor boating Guido Cappellini and the 18 times champion of motor boating Renato Molinari and the presidents of the respective Federations, Switzerland and Italian, Mister Motta and Mister Iacoianni .

At Stresa the preparations are already fervent for predisposing everything necessary to organize to the best way this demonstration that foresees to have a great presence of public because for the first time these boats will race on the lake to short distance from big urban towns as Milan, Turin, in one of the most populous areas of Italy.
